A little background:
The outdoor markets of Philadelphia slowly evolvied from open air marketplaces to an enclosed market with trains running in hourly in the train sheds above.
Although the trains stopped their daily commuter run to the market in the 1980's, the space remains vibrantly alive with over 100 food purveyors and vendors selling everything from fine French linens to organic poultry to the latest foodie item on the circuit.
"Meet me at the Pig" refers to Philbert the pig , a large bronze sculpture that stands in the food court, poised for receiving snacks and donations. Donations to Philbert are used toward providing food to needy citizens in the area.
